Online payments rise sharply

The number of payments made using the online payment system IDEAL rose 43% in 2010 compared with 2009, according to the annual report of the central bank. That is a total of 63 million payments.


Electronic payments rose for all systems by 4% to 2.6 billion, with IDEAL showing the biggest increase, says news agency ANP in its report.
Paper payments fell nearly 6% to 225 million.
