Maria van der Hoeven takes over at IEA

Former economic affairs minister Maria van der Hoeven is to take over as executive director of the International Energy Agency in Paris on August 31, reports the Financieele Dagblad.


She succeeds the Japanese Nobuo Tanaka, whose four-year term ends in 2012.
Van der Hoeven was economic affairs minister in Jan Peter Balkenende’s fourth cabinet, between February 2007 and October 2010.
