March was sunny, dry and cold
March was very sunny with 185 hours of sun compared with the average 125 hours, the meteorlogical office KNMI announced on Thursday.
It was also much drier than usual with an average rainfall of 10 millimetres compared with the normal 60 millimetres.
Despite the sunshine, March was a degree colder than usual at 6.1 Celsius. This was mainly due to the cold nights, a spokesman said. There were 14 days of frost rather than the usual eight.
