Kunduz mission goes ahead despite violence

The police training mission to the northern Afghan province of Kunduz will go ahead despite the recent increase in violence in the region, foreign affairs minister Uri Rosenthal told parliament on Tuesday afternoon.

A risk assessment will be made each day as to whether the police trainers should work outside their training centre or if additional security measures are required, the minister said.
The controversial decision to send police trainers to Kunduz was taken in January.
