Home owners local taxes rise 2%
Local authority taxes for home owners have gone up an average 2% this year, according to calculations by the property owners lobby group VEH.
The average bill for property and other taxes is €686 a year, the VEH says.
The research also shows small local authority areas are more expensive in terms of local taxes.
Home owners in places with fewer than 15,000 residents pay an average €733 a year, with single person households having a €90 advantage.
In cities with over €100,000 residents, local taxes average €657 a year and single people get a €45 discount.
