Dutch helicopter crew captured by Libyan troops during rescue

The three-man crew of a Dutch naval helicopter were picked up by Libyan forces during an attempt to rescue two people from the port of Sirte on Sunday.

‘Intense’ diplomatic efforts are now under way to get the three men released. Their families have been informed, the Telegraaf says.
The men were in a helicopter based on the frigate HMS Tromp. The helicopter was attacked by government troops as it landed and has also been seized.
The two people it came to rescue, one a Dutch national, were later handed over to the Dutch ambassador and have since returned home.
British commandos brought out 150 foreign nationals at the weekend.
