CDA MPs angry at pay slip simplification delays

CDA MPs are angry that junior finance minister Frans Weekers is delaying plans to develop simplified pay slips by a year.

‘It is extremely disappointing the tax office is not ready to put this operation into practice,’ CDA MP Pieter Omtzigt says in Tuesday’s Financieele Dagblad.
The aim of the simplification process is to come up with standard definitions for wages and premiums. At the moment, for example, the extra healthcare premium is levied over a different definition of basic salary to income tax.
Employers are pleased with the delay because some of the changes will increase their costs, the paper says.
