An attempt by a 16-year-old youth to stage an armed robbery on his own home has led to the arrest of 22 youngsters in The Hague who are suspected of involvement in at least 30 crimes, ranging from arson and burglary to public order offences.

According to the Telegraaf, the youth and a friend waited until his mother had left the house before launching their attack. But he was recognised by the cleaner.
When questioned by police, he confessed to a string of other offences, resulting in the arrests.
