Sixty-two-year-old set to become first time mother

A 62-year-old single woman from Harlingen in Friesland is pregnant with her first child, the Leeuwarder Courant newspaper reports.

The woman underwent fertility treatment in Italy and the baby will be born in April, Nos television said. The Dutch cut-off for fertility treatment is 45.
A spokesman for the woman said friends and family had been informed about the pregnancy and no further details would be made public. Both the woman and unborn child are doing well, the spokesman said.
