No senate majority puts cabinet in ‘very difficult position’: PM
The government will be placed in a ‘very difficult’ position if it fails to win a majority of seats in the upper house of parliament, prime minister Mark Rutte told a television talk show on Wednesday evening.
Such a result could also make a number of parts of the government’s plans impossible to realise, the prime minister said.
And he urged the government’s supporters to ensure they turn out to vote in next week’s election.
Recent opinion polls show the minority cabinet and anti-Islam alliance partner PVV will not win more than half the 75 senate seats.
