There will be little movement on the housing market this year and starters will still find it hard to get a foothold on the market, according to ING economists.

The expected rise in mortgage rates and tougher demands on mortgage holders will make it even more difficult for first time buyers, the report by ING’s economic bureau said.
Last year prices were down around 1% on 2009, following a 5% decline in 2009. But prices are unlikely to go down this year, making it even tougher for starters, the ING economists said.
