Largest bio-gas plant opens

The Netherlands’ largest bio-gas plant opened in Spakenburg on Monday with enough capacity to supply 3,500 households with gas.

The plant, owned by the family-run fish processing company A van de Groep, will use fish and other food waste to produce around 6 million m3 of green gas a year. That is 6% of the total bio-gas production in the Netherlands, reports the Financieele Dagblad.
