Fines for Grolsch insider trading

A former Grolsch secretary, her boyfriend and father-in-law have been fined for insider trading in the brewing group’s shares in 2007.

The woman was fined €1,000 for passing on information that Grolsch was in talks on a merger with SABMiller. Her partner was also fined €1,000 for telling his father about the deal.
He, in turn, was fined €10,000 and the proceeds of the illegal trading – €22,922.92 – was confiscated. The man had denied insider trading and told officials his son thought something was up at Grolsch because his girlfriend was so busy, the Financieele Dagblad reported.
