Sixty arrested for internet banking fraud

Police in The Hague have arrested almost 60 people in connection with internet banking fraud.

Thirty-seven of those picked up are young women with an ethnic minority background who allowed criminals to use their bank accounts, news agency ANP said.
The gang is alleged to have stolen €170,000 from four people who responded to a fake email asking for bank details – a process known as phishing. The cash was subsequently transferred to the women’s accounts.
