Marianne Vos takes fourth cyclo-cross world title

Marianne Vos took her fourth cyclo-cross world title at the world championships in Germany on Sunday.

Vos, 24, won the event in 2006, 2009 and 2010. She beat American Katie Compton and Czech Katerina Nash with a strong attack on the final lap of the 40-minute event in Sankt Wendel.
Cyclo-cross is a mass bike race consisting of many laps of a short course including wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles, sometimes requiring cyclists to dismount and carry their bikes.
