Fewer bankruptcies in January
The number of firms going bankrupt in January is down 20% on the previous year, according to financial research bureau Graydon.
In total, 629 firms went bust in the first few weeks of this year.
Graydon expects the total number of bankruptcies to reach 9,500, still well above 2008 when 6,800 firms went bankrupt.
