Ajax captain Suarez may head for Liverpool
Ajax star striker and captain Luis Suarez has opened the door to a move to Liverpool in the winter transfer window, according to the English side’s website.
Suarez is currently at the Amsterdam club’s winter training camp in Turkey and has had a meeting with coach Frank de Boer about moving on.
They both accept the moment has arrived for the South American to move on if the Amsterdam club get an acceptable offer, the website says. It describes Suarez as ‘£20million-rated’.
‘I wanted to know what his plans are and what the future will bring,’De Boer is quoted as saying. ‘Luis is training hard. He told me that if a big club comes in for him now he is ready to talk to them.’
Meanwhile, Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport says AC Milan are ‘preparing a summer raid on Ajax for the Danish inside-forward Christian Eriksen but will face competition from England. Eriksen’s current deal with the Amsterdammers runs to 2014.
