Nine public tv presenters earn more than the PM

Nine presenters on the three public tv channels are currently earning more than the prime minister’s €181,000, culture minister Ank van Bijsterveldt told MPs on Wednesday.

Last year, 23 earned more than the PM. His salary is supposed to set the standard for public sector pay.
Six of nine presenters, who were not named, have their salaries paid into a private company, which allows them to get around the rules. That route to higher pay has now been closed.
Three others have official permission to earn more. They include Matthijs van Nieuwkerk, who picks up over €400,000 for presenting a daily chat show
