Flevoland will overtake Groningen as the province with the highest unemployment rate, according to ING economists.

The bank’s economic desk forecasts unemployment to go up everywhere this year, reaching 7.7% in Flevoland.
And, they say, the slowdown in the economic upswing will not lead to much improvement in 2011.
But the ageing population and increased demand for care workers will lead to a fall in unemployment in the northern provinces, Zeeland and Limburg, the ING economists say.
So while the jobless rate in Groningen will remain higher than average, it will be overtaken by Flevoland.
