Budget leaks: fines for minor offences to go up 15%

The fines for minor offences such as not signaling while riding a bike or failing to clear up dog mess are to go up 15%, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday, quoting government sources.

The aim is to generate an extra €50m for the treasury, the paper says. The plans will be presented next Tuesday as part of the budget.
Last week it emerged traffic fines are to increase by 15%.
The higher fines will also apply to people who are caught urinating in public (up from €90 to €103), not carrying an identity card (from €60 to €69) and fare dodging on trams and buses (from €75 to €86), the paper says.
