Renault recalls Scenics because of parking brake problems
Car maker Renault is recalling all 26,300 Scénic II cars because of problems with the automatic parking brake, the AD reports on Thursday.
The paper says in France there have been a number of instances of the handbrake coming into action while the vehicle is in motion but there have been no serious accidents.
The car was sold in the Netherlands between 2003 and 2005 and is a ‘real family holiday car’ the paper says.
Tweaking the handbrake’s software takes 30 minutes. Some 700,000 cars are being recalled worldwide.
