Petitions presented to Christian Democrat leader

The online petitions for and against Christian Democrats working with the anti-Islam PVV were handed to acting party leader Henk Bleker on Wednesday afternoon.

The anti-petition has been signed by 1,000 Christian Democrat members, reports the Volkskrant. They want their party to stop negotiating with the Liberal VVD and the PVV for a minority government supported by the PVV in parliament.
The pro-petition has 2,000 signatories, nearly 1,000 of them Christian Democrats. John Kuijt, who began the petition, told the Volkskrant they want the negotiations to continue. He said he trusts the party not to allow changes to the constitution, which the PVV wants, in exchange for participation in government.
