Liberals leap to home owners’ defence

The parliamentary Liberal VVD party has sprung to the defence of home owners with a second home in Amsterdam, reports the Telegraaf on Wednesday.

Amsterdam council is informing second home owners that their pied-à-terre in the city must be rented out at a price fixed by the council. That amount is often less than they are paying on their mortgage.
The Liberal party in parliament is against the move and is asking acting housing minister Eimert van Middelkoop to look into the matter.
