Four main cities feel less safe
People living in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht feel less secure in their own neighbourhoods than the inhabitants of other urban areas, figures from the central statistics agency CBS show.
During the day, 5% of people in The Hague and Rotterdam, 4% in Amsterdam and 3% in Utrecht do not feel safe. Outside the four main cities fewer than 1% feel unsafe in their own neighbourhood.
At night the percentages rise to 10% in Rotterdam and 8% in the other three cities.
