Dutch workers low on EU strike ranking
Dutch workers go on striker much less than in most other European countries, news agency ANP reports on Friday, quoting an unnamed EU agency.
Between 2005 and 2009, 5.7 days were lost to strike action for every 1,000 workers, ANP says. Only Luxemburg, Slovakia, Lithuania, Estonia and Austria had fewer strikes.
Denmark was the most strike-bound country, with an average 159.4 days lost a year for every 1,000 workers. France was second and Belgium third.
Denmark was hit by long-running public sector worker strikes in 2006 and 2008.
