The Dutch football association should pay towards the cost of Arjen Robben’s muscle injury, the chairman of Robben’s German side Bayern Munich says in a German newspaper on Thursday.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the Abendzeitung it would ‘only be fair’ for the Dutch federation to compensate the club since it is responsible for Robben’s injury by allowing him to play at the World Cup.
Robben’s torn hamstring muscle was diagnosed after his return from holiday this week. He went to the World Cup after an intense programme of physiotherapy and played through to the final after missing out on the first two group matches.
‘Robben is not playing but he is costing us money. It would seem to me to be only logical that the KNVB pay the cost,’ the Bayern boss was quoted as saying.
Nevetheless, Rummenigge said he was not planning to take action against the KNVB. ‘I hope to come to a fair and good solution with the KNVB board,’ he said.
