Cordaan residential care group under investigation
The health inspectorate has launched a major investigation into standards at the Cordaan institutional healthcare group in Amsterdam, the Parool reports on Friday.
Cordaan is Amsterdam’s biggest healthcare group with 27,000 clients and 9,000 workers, the paper says.
Earlier this year, the organisation hit the headlines after a mentally handicapped girl was raped at a hostel. In late spring, a care home resident drowned.
In April, Socialist Party MPs gave the inspectorate a file containing 150 complaints about Cordaan, ranging from poor standards, staff shortages and fiddling with expenses.
