Christian Democrats told to ‘see sense’

Prominent Christian Democrat and chairman of the HBO college board Doekle Terpstra called on his party to think very carefully about working with the anti-Islam PVV during an interview on Radio 1 on Monday.

He told the programme Dit is de Dag that Christian Democrats should not fritter away the ideology they have built up so carefully by forming a cabinet with the Liberal VVD with the support of the PVV.
Terpstra wants his party to see sense and reject the arrangement currently being discussed by the three parties in The Hague. The extra Christian Democrat conference scheduled for later in August is the moment for this decision, he said.
