Amsterdam’s metro system between central station and Amstel station reopened on Monday morning.

The line was closed for nearly five weeks to allow contractors to improve fire safety. However, a dispute over the contract means that work was not carried out.
According to Amsterdam council, maintenance on escalators and lifts was done instead.
