Vuvuzelas banned from Dutch football stadiums
The Dutch football association has banned fans from bringing vuvuzelas to professional football matches next season, BNR radio reports on Tuesday.
The KNVB has decided the tooters are so bad for people’s hearing that it wants to protect supporters, BNR said.
The buzzing noise generated by vuvuzelas led to thousands of complaints to broadcasting companies at this year’s World Cup.
But BNR says that in fact the KNVB banned the tooters after the Confederations Cup in South Africa last year.
