Experiments using volunteers to help convicted paedophiles reintegrate into society in Den Bosch have been so successful the method is to be used elsewhere in Netherlands, Nos tv reports.

Intensive contact with volunteers can help paedophiles who are under court supervision keep out of trouble by making sure they are not living in isolation and by spotting early signs that they may reoffend, Nos says.
This approach is already used with success in Canada and Britain, experts told the tv channel. In Canada, for example, the reoffending rate has been cut by 70%.
After the good results booked by two projects in Den Bosch, the authorities in Rotterdam, Dordrecht and Breda are advertising for volunteers to help similar projects there.
