The cost of a round of drinks on an Amsterdam cafe terrace is the most expensive in the country for the seventh year in a row, according to the annual Van Spronsen & Partners survey.


Two small beers, two glasses of rosé and two soft drinks costs an average €21.15 in the capital. A year ago, the same drinks cost €20.55. The Hague has the second most expensive cafes, followed by Rotterdam.
Utrecht is the only city where prices have fallen – 7 cents to €18.53 – moving the city down from fifth to 11th place in the rankings. The sharpest rise – 7.2% – was recorded in Arnhem, which rose from 18th to 6th place.
Cheapest of the 21 cities under investigation was Nijmegen, where the round of drinks cost an average €17.48.
