The Netherlands puts Brazil out of World Cup with 2-1 victory
The Netherlands beat Brazil 2-1 on Friday afternoon to go into the World Cup semi-finals against Uruguay on Tuesday.
Oranje was one goal down but an own goal inthe second half by Felipe Melo made it 1-1. A header by Wesley Sneijder gave Oranje the victory.
After the match coach Bert van Marwijk said the team would be celebrating. ‘”Tonight it is party time, and tomorrow we will focus on the next match,’ the Telegraaf quoted him as saying.
According to Nos tv, as many as 61% of people who were supposed to work on Friday had asked for at least half a day off to watch the game.
