Sweet chain Jamin gets new owner
The 125-year-old sweet shop chain Jamin is being taken over by Hoorn-based Hermans Retail Group, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Tuesday.
Financial details were not disclosed.
Jamin has 139 outlets, of which 132 are run as a franchise operation. The group turned over €40m in 2008, making net profit of €950,000.
At its high point in the 1960s, Jamin had over 600 shops.
Jamin’s four current shareholders, who bought the company in 2007, will stay on in a minority role.
