Police shoot dead a man armed with a knife

A police officer in Rotterdam has shot dead a man who attacked him with a knife, news agency ANP reports.

Two officers were called to a house after neighbours reported a fight at around 0600 hours.
As they arrived, a man charged at them wielding a knife, forcing them to draw their weapons, ANP says. Their attacker died later in hospital.
