Nineteen cot death cases in 2009
Nineteen babies died of unexplained causes, or cot death, in the Netherlands last year, according to the infant death prevention foundation.
The number has increased by one of two a year since 2006, when there were just 11 cot deaths in the Netherlands.
In 1986 there were 190 cases, probably due to the fashion of putting babies to sleep on their stomachs, experts say.
