A 22-year-old man who was shot by police during riots at a beach party in Hoek van Holland last August, has been jailed for eight months, five suspended.

The court ruled Nick B was one of a group of young men who began attacking police during the Sunset Grooves event. One 19-year-old youth was shot dead by police who panicked as they came under attack.
B was hit by three bullets. He was found guilty of threatening and using violence against police officers but not guilty of attempted manslaughter. Several other rioters have already been sentenced.
