The unemployment rate under graduates with an hbo college degree rose from 1.9% to 5.4% last year, according to the annual hbo monitor put together at Maastricht University.

Graduates with an arts or economics degree are most likely to be unemployed (8%) while only 1.7% of students who passed a degree in agriculture-related subjects are jobless.
HBO colleges have lower entrance requirements (havo) and focus more on the practical application of knowledge than universities.
