Event and festival organisers are busy adjusting their schedules to take account of Sunday night’s World Cup final, in which the Netherlands will take on the winner of tonight’s Spain Germany match.

Sunday evening’s performance of the Mary Poppins and Mamma Mia musicals have been brought forward so as not to clash with the football. ‘It is the first time we have done this… but we want our public and our workers to be able to enjoy it,’ said a spokesman for the Luxor Theatre in Rotterdam.
Dozens of tickets for the North Sea Jazz festival in Rotterdam are being offered for sale on websites and online auctions even though the organisers have decided to place a big screen in the Ahoy arena complex.
The Bospop blues festival in Weert will also feature a big screen for football fans. The final is timed to coincide with the end of Status Quo and beginning of Billy Idol’s show.
Violinist André Rieu has also brought forward his concert in Maastricht.
