Chip machinery maker ASML raises forecast
Chip machinery maker ASML booked €1.07bn in turnover in the second quarter of this year and is forecasting full year earnings will be between 10% to 15% higher than last year.
The Veldhoven-based firm sold 35 new chip machines in the second quarter and eight second-hand ones.
‘We anticipate bookings levels of around €1.3bn in the third quarter and we now expect full year 2010 sales to grow 10 to 15% above our historical peak sales of €3.8bn,’ CEO Eric Meurice said in a statement.
‘This level of sales is expected to continue into 2011, barring a major macro-economic downturn, as it is supported by a number of fundamental growth drivers,’ he said.
