Ajax draws Greek side in Champions League
Amsterdam football club Ajax will play PAOK of Greece in the third preliminary round of next season’s Champion’s League.
The home match will be played on July 27 or 28 and the return leg in Greece on August 3 or 4.
If Ajax wins, it will face another opponent to qualify for the Champions League proper. If Ajax loses, it will join the competition to join the Europa League.
Ajax ended second in the Dutch premier division last season. FC Twente was top.
In the Europa League, Alkmaar club AZ plays IFK Göteborg of Sweden for a place in the play-off round alongside PSV Eindhoven and Rotterdam’s Feyenoord.
