Warm weather ahead as summer officially begins

There is a ‘real’ chance that this summer, which officially begins at 13.28 on Monday, could be hotter than average, according to weather bureau KNMI.

Temperatures are set to rise to up to 28 Celsius by the end of this week, and will continue after that, the KNMI says in its mid-range forecast.
The prospect of a long hot summer is due to global warming but the winds will decide if temperatures actually soar, the Volkskrant quotes the KNMI as saying
Monday is the longest day of the year. The sun rose at 5.19 hours and will go down 16 hours and 45 minutes later at 22.04 hours, the paper said.
