Arjen Robben will be part of the Dutch squad at the World Cup in South Africa because his hamstring injury is not as serious as first thought, the Dutch football association said on Sunday.

Robben was injured during Saturday’s warm up match against Hungary and was taken to the Erasmus hospital in Rotterdam for tests. According to the paper he has a slight tear in his hamstring. Oranje won the match 6-1.
‘I have decided not to call up a replacement for Robben and to give him as much chance as possible to join the rest of the squad,’ coach Bert van Marwijk told a news conference. ‘We will decide when he will travel over the next few days.’
Recovery
The Netherlands’ first match in the competition – against Denmark – is scheduled for June 14.
Robben told tv show Studio Voetbal in a telephone interview: ‘we are talking about a small, miniscule tear. So the damage is not that great, but it has to recover.’
Robben is now working with a specialist physiotherapist. ‘I am going to do everything I can to be fit again as quickly as possible,’ Robben told the show.
The rest of the Dutch squad, which arrived in South Africa on Sunday, begins training on Monday.
