Naarden is still the best place to live

The town of Naarden south of Amsterdam is the best place in the country to live for the second year in a row, according to the annual local authority ranking by Elsevier magazine.

Naarden is followed in the ranking by the nearby towns of Bussum and Hilversum.
Elsevier looks at the local environment, healthcare, education, crime rate, council services, housing and economy to draw up rankings.
This year it also drew up separate rankings for the elderly, young people, families and childless couples.
Amsterdam tops the list of best places to live for young people because of its broad educational range and cafe life. Groningen, Utrecht and Eindhoven are next on the list. Naarden and Amsterdam top the list for couples without children.
