Labour leader Cohen rejects ‘coalition of losers’

Labour leader Job Cohen on Friday ruled out forming a new coalition government with the VVD and Christian Democrats.

A coalition with two parties which lost support in last week’s general election would not do justice to the results of the election, Cohen said after his meeting with coalition negotiator Uri Rosenthal.
Labour lost three seats while the CDA lost 19.
The purple plus coalition which Cohen supports would have three winning parties: the VVD, Liberal democrats D66 and left-wing greens GroenLinks.
