Holidaymakers asked to pay more for their long-distance trips
Thousands of people who have booked long haul holidays have been asked to pay more towards their trips, even though the bills have already been paid, the Telegraaf reports on Wednesday.
The price of holidays to the US, Africa and Asia has gone up by 10% to 15% because of the sharply strong dollar, forcing holiday firms to ask for more money, the paper says.
Customers of tour operators Travel Trend, Talisman and Incento have been sent the letter, asking the average family for hundreds more euros.
According to the AVCR travel agents association, companies are within their rights to ask for extra cash.
