De Bakker through to Wimbledon second round in five sets
Dutchman Thiemo de Bakker is through to the second round of the Wimbledon tennis tournament in London after a five-set battle with Spain’s Santiago Giraldo.
The match resumed on Wednesday after being stopped for bad light on Tuesday at 6-7 6-4 6-3 5-7. De Bakker eventually took the fifth set 16-14.
He will now play the winner of the record breaking 10 hour marathon between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut.
