Archaeologists find horses’ graveyard

Archaeologists working in the far south of Limburg have discovered the remains of dozens of horses, which appear to have been buried in the 16th or 17th centuries, Nos tv reports.

One theory is that the horses were killed during the 80 Years War with Spain or during the siege of Maastricht by the French in 1673.
