Schiphol flight restrictions lifted as ash cloud moves on
Restrictions on air travel from Schiphol and Rotterdam airports were lifted from 13.00 on Monday afternoon, ending the flight ban which caused the cancellation of hundreds of flights.
The decision to reopen the airports was based on test flights and the latest weather information, the Telegraaf reported.
But Schiphol airport says it will still be some time before schedules get back to normal and passengers still face delays. They are being advised to contact their airlines for more information.
Schiphol and Rotterdam airports were closed at 06.00 because volcanic ash from Iceland was again drifting over mainland Europe. There are still restrictions in Groningen and in Britain.
