Man who disrupted Remembrance Day in court on Friday
The 39-year-old man who disrupted Tuesday evening’s Remembrance Day ceremony at the Dam war memorial in Amsterdam causing widespread panic will appear in court on Friday.
The man has been charged with public order offences and causing physical damage to others. Over 50 people were treated for injuries after being caught up in the stampede. While most suffered scratches and bruises, others have broken bones.
Police are not releasing the man’s name but say he has a record for drugs, theft and violent offences. He will be examined by a psychiatrist before Friday’s court hearing, the Telegraaf reported.
